Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Anyone eaten there recently?

May well be taking a group down tonight, but from I can see online - http://www.thesalisburyhotelpub.co.uk/food/ - the food these days is basically burgers, burgers or burgers.

Is this right?

I don't know, but I had a burger there last Friday and it was excellent. However, I was rat arsed so possibly would have given a Ginsters Buffet Bar five stars..

The food is burgers, yes, but they have a couple of other things like salads & nachos. They have a pop-up in the kitchens (Goneburger) so this is very much their schtick.

They're excellent too

Yea they’re great burgers. Would also recommend the Japanese food at Brouhaha

The burgers are really good! Not just your normal pub grub..

The burgers aren't as good as Bun & Bar, which also offers a greater selection plus choice of rosemary or sweet potato fries, and a 'skinny' version with extra salad and no bun or fries (and no, I have no connection with the B&B, other than being a happy regular)

The Salisbury should go back to doing pies etc, we stopped eating there when they changed the menu (from going about once a week), and there's nowhere to get that kind of stuff now that i know of in the area - feel free to correct me...

Likewise - we used to eat there quite regularly, but no longer do so because the menu is just burgers. I quite like them, but as you say, there are other places that also do great burgers. I really miss some of the food the Salisbury used to do.

Yes.. I miss the pies too *sighs*

I haven’t eaten in there since they changed the menu either- it just seems pointless to have a burger menu when you are smack bang opposite a pretty good burger bar.

Please bring back the pies.

Ha, I'm also the same. I'd definitely be in there more if they were doing something other than burgers.

It would actually be a decent place for a monthly pop-up like the Duke's Head http://www.thedukesheadhighgate.co.uk/food/ Something a bit different every month. With the big room at the back, I think the place is a bit under-utilised for food.

It may seem pointless for the Salisbury to do burgers (and nothing else) when Bun and Bar, yards away, does just about the best burgers in London (that I've tasted). However I have long suspected it was a rather deliberate (and somewhat shameless) attempt by the owners to steal BAB's trade. It doesn't seem to be working though ;-)

Agree, B&B do amazing burgers... although I wonder if Five Guys in Wood Green could give them a run for their money in the purely "burger" department. Other than just burgers, the service and atmosphere is also excellent.
