I’m really not understanding what this meeting is about.  Only a couple of weeks ago the Labour Party conference agreed a motion that included the option of a second referendum.  What difference will a vote on precisely the same thing at a local council meeting make as that intension has been agreed by a national conference?  The relevant text from the motion is below in case you haven’t seen it.

“If we cannot get a general election, Labour must support all options remaining on the table, including campaigning for a public vote.  If the government is confident in negotiating a deal that working people, our economy and communities will benefit from, they should not be afraid to put that deal to the public."
