Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Has this now closed permanently? It doesn't seem to show up on any of the collection options.

It could have opened a month ago, but didn't.

Given that the nearby Argos stores in Wood Green and on Holloway Rd are open and the collection point on Hornsey High St next to the new Sainsbury's is open too, it does seem unlikely to be top of any list to re-open soon on grounds of 'only store for miles around'.

And since Sainsbury's now own Argos, I'd expect a new collection point in Harringay Sainsbury's sharpish.

A correction, some context, and Sainsburys closed counters.

Correction: "the collection point on Hornsey High St next to the new Sainsburys" (above post by me) is a stockholding store, not just a collection point. Though whether it will survive beyond 2024, only Sainsburys know.

Details from Sainsbury's half-year report:

"120 of our standalone Argos stores have not reopened since we closed them back in March. These stores will now close permanently.

We currently have 315 Argos stores in our supermarkets and 296 collection points across supermarkets and convenience stores. Over the next three years we will open up to another 150 Argos Stores in supermarkets and a further 150-200 collection points.

In total, we will close around 420 Argos stores by March 2024, reducing the total number of standalone stores to around 100."

As for Sainsburys, the meat, fish and delicatessen counters that closed in March are now all closed for good.
