Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

What is going on at the Hope & Anchor on Tottenham Lane, apart from building flats above it?

There is a notice on the lamppost outside and I'm not sure if it's just the ACV that's about to be disposed of, or the pub?

Anyone have any idea? Hate to lose another local!

Hope it doesnt go, i've some great memories from 30years ago when i used to live opposite, above simon's.

There used to be a glut of hostelries back then;- Fiddlers, Dick's, Hope, and oh i've forgotten the name of the one by the roundabout at the bottom of ferme park (used to watch the football there). I really think that pubs should have some protection from developers they're great for meeting neighbours, just need to be well run.

We hope so too Andy/(Andy & Marijo? ) Most of our Rathcoole neighbours still are regulars.

Hi Denise, long time no see!!

time to get my/our arses back over there. Marijo said she'd been in touch with you recently. So , drinks?

if the Hope's closed for now what about the Great Northen?

HI Maurice & I still pop in there...The Great Northern is very pricey, we loved the Earl Haig best...I'll message Marijo. It's Crouch End Open Studios this weekend!

There are flats being built above the pub....the Hornsey Tavern closed down & was in a similar situation...A developer will want to make the whole building flats I'm sure.Shame as it really is the only local left...
