Walking home this evening I saw some guys in Shamata. After chatting with them, I wondered if we could wish for one new restaurant on Green Lanes what would it be?
Now, for me If there was somewhere I could get arepa like the Venezuelan mom'n'pop place in Crystal Palace, that would be fine and dandy.
What about you?
I am also still waiting for the Vietnamese to open. They can count on my patronage. Although Chinese-Albanian sounds intriguing.
Vietnamese - agreed, I thought the one next to The Salisbury had been given permission to open
Primary planning granted. Supplementary planning application for extractor flue refused on 27th May. I'm not sure where this leaves things. Here's the main part of the Council's decision notice.
1. The flue, by reason of its size and scale, is out of keeping with the appearance of the existing property and has an adverse effect on the visual amenity of the area , contrary to and Policies 7.4 and 7.6 of the London Plan 2011, Policy SP11 of the Haringey Local Plan 2013, Saved Policy UD3 of the Haringey Unitary Development Plan 2006.
2. The development has an adverse effect of the amenity of neighbouring residents by reason of a material loss of outlook and noise nuisance contrary to Policies 7.4 and 7.6 of the London Plan 2011, Policy SP11 of the Haringey Local Plan 2013, Saved Policy UD3 of the Haringey Unitary Development Plan 2006.
oh, I see. Bit of a shame. Thanks Hugh
Hugh, I could not agree more with you. It would be wonderful to have arepas in Green Lanes.
Several outlets have sprung out throughout London in the last year. A well established one is Arepa & Co, which now has a lovely place by Regent's canal in Haggerston N1 with great cocktails: http://arepaandco.com @

So far it seems like Latin American amd Asian are topping the bill. Fair summary?
You need to jog your memory, Pav. Shamata is to become a music cafe.
Thought that was the old Deniz offie?
Doh! Guess whose memory needs jogging! Sorry, Pav.
Shamata was the subject of this post - and nonetheless is apparently already taken.
