Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just out of interest - not complaining. Does anybody know what the celebration ( floats, music, fancy dress open-top buses ) was on Upper Clapton Road this afternoon ? I've seen it before in previous years.

It’s Purim and tomorrow is Shushan Purim

Thanks Johnathan. Everybody seemed to be having a great time :)

Hello - it's Purim! very joyous and full of music, costumes etc. :)

The Jewish celebration of Purin comes from the Book of Esther in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). It commemorates the failure of a plot to kill all the Jews in Persia about 450BCE (Before the Common Era). Purim means "Lots" or the casting of Lots.
