Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Not sure how many on the forum venture as far East as the A10 but a fantastic little coffee place just popped up next to our bus stop so I wanted to spread the message.

Located next to Post Bar on the A10 opposite Philip Lane, has a great range of Coffee and Pastries with seating in the window while you wait for a bus or if crossing through towards the Wetlands.

We do! We live even a bit further east from there, on Antill Road... Thanks for pointing this place out, we probably wouldn't have known for a while, will definitely check it out. That's two coffee shops nearby now with Blighty only a bit further south walking towards Seven Sisters station.

Hi Sophia,

Nice to see some 'Tottenham Island' residents on the forum - yes we love Blighty too although since they are only open from 9ish it's sometimes a little late for us.  Macchiato seems to be open from 6am in the week so plenty early enough for the commute.

hehe... nice to 'meet' you too!! We have an open-mind in terms of wanting to know what's happening in the 'wider neighbourhood'... (but also when we first signed up to HO we used to live a bit closer to Harringay, just off Philip Lane, about 10 min-walk from here...)

Well Bruce Grove/Tottenham is doing well in this 'despressed' economy.

There are those that will cry "gentrification" but most of these are local entrepreneurs.

Brave and courageous are they! It is great to see that people have faith in the future economy and the area despite the prevailing, all-alarming news. Of course with the amount of homes being built in the towers at Tottenham Hale the High Rd is a sure bet in the medium/longer term, for unique 'local-centric' businesses.

We also have:

- the new Gelato cafe at 521 (with unfortunate ugly signage),

- Cinnamon Leaf Foodhall, a black owned and run, organic grocery at 555-557 High rd not far from Aldi,

both replacing pound/phone shop type outlets with Lyca mobile signs.

Holcombe market continues strong too....

Martinez Butchers has just opened further south in Seven Sisters stretch too.

PS - Grainger plc, it seems, is still pursuing its horridly generically bland, outdated thinking, multi-storey, community destructive development on the Wards Corner site.

Thanks so much, was not aware of Cinnamon Leaf Foodhall as usually we only go as far as the fishmonger at the Holcombe market... Will definitely pay a visit!
