Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Another excellent local coffee shop has just opened at 461 Green Lanes, that also sells musical instruments. This is has no connection to Beans and Barley and I hope people won't assume they are part of the same enterprise because of the similar name. I attach a photo highlighting the attractive interiors of guitars and a beautifully tiled original black and white floor.

Had very good coffee there yesterday. Lovely staff, performance space and guitars to ogle. A welcome addition to GL

Friendly staff and excellent cakes and coffee! Just need a few comfy sofas now!

Lovely instruments (couldn't resist playing a tenor Uke and their digital piano).  Decent food.  Nice space.  Will definitely be back.

Music on the stereo was pretty good (although some if it was a bit smoove for my taste).  On that front, they have strong competition round here from Blend, Moka and 'But First Coffee' (Matt knows his Jazz) - and (hopefully) soon from a revived Jam-in-a-Jar (opening in a month to 5 weeks according to Cuoto, who I bumped into checking out Music and Beans.)

One question where are the beans?

In the coffee cups perhaps..............

Doh!

if it's any consolation I too had a more cowboy/ western image of a campfire, guitar and BEANS!

Ah, so that's why they gave me a funny look when I asked for mine on toast.

Second visit.  Music really too smooth for me this time.  I have nothing against bossa (love Stan Getz's take on it), but bland bossa reworkings of The Stones and classic soul tunes just make me want to flee.  Needed a good dose of Sonic Youth through my headphones to compensate.

Having scones cream tea and cappuccino - mellow sounds but a welcome addition to gl
