It's opened! I went in there this evening and had a tea and delicious cake. It's opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am - 6pm, and Friday 10am to 11pm. Tuesday to Friday it is doing teas, coffees, cakes and other sweet treats. On Fridays it is also doing hot meals, including pasta and patties. Very nice owners.

Fair point.

I just get fed up with people who try to force the vegan propaganda down other people's throats. I don't think it does the cause any good. There's plenty of good science to support their position without resorting to bad.

If a person is a dick surely it's because they are dick not because they are a vegan? One wouldnt or at least shouldnt pick on a persons race or religion in the same way. It's just 'othering' isnt it? It just sounds like vegan is just the easiest stick to beat them with.

Yes it would be stupid but in picking up on my comment and using my previous comment in an effort to (uncsuccessfully) try to make make me look hypocritical you're joining in. You're augmenting the trope that vegans and veganism is inconsistent, intellectually weak and generally not something to be respected.

When I say above 'I cannot for the life of me see why anyone else consider's it their business' of course I can see why. You're augmenting the trope that vegans and veganism is inconsistent, intellectually weak and generally not something to be respected.
When I say above 'I cannot for the life of me see why anyone else consider's it their business' of course I can see why. It's called cognitive dissonance. The ability to know a fact and still go about your business as if you do not know it regardless of the effect. It's an important human trait because were we to dwell on all the awful things we know in the world we wouldn't get out of bed in the morning but equally it's what allows people to take cocaine and use iphones despite what we know of the supply chain. It pretty much characterises our politics right now. Look at Michael Gove.
We all know, deep down, that the arguments for veganism are indisputable and some people accept, reflect and change. But humans dont like to have their comfortable belief systems challenged and so lots of people don't change and some even double down and become aggressive or mocking of vegans as a way of denying the truth. And THAT's who I am referring to when I use the term "out-of-touch carnivore dinosaurs".
Some 'choices' are more valid for criticism than others is I guess what i'm saying and if a person cannot manage to find a way to improve their choices then fine but they certainly should be called out criticising others who have.
To be clear - I don't " hate…tag:harringayonline.com,2019-01-18:844301:Comment:11457162019-01-18T09:16:20.279ZJohn Dhttps://harringayonline.com/profile/JohnD

To be clear - I don't " hate on " vegans - I don't actually know any so that would be stupid.

But, I don't see how you can attack people for expressing doubt about people's (vegan) dietary choices while you think you can refer to " out-of-touch carnivore dinosaurs ". That's a choice too.

They certainly did John and it was me. Unfortunately you've misunderstood the original point. And this one. Because they are they same point. Which is that people want to undermine, impugne the motives of, threaten with illness and generally stick their beaks in to vegan's dietary choices. So this example from Ian B accusing vegans of bandwagon jumping simply underlines the point. And indeed your comment does the same. Like I say literally ANYTHING.

I'm not a vegan but regardless of…

Like I say literally ANYTHING.
I'm not a vegan but regardless of whether a vegan's motivation is to reduce damage to the environment, reduce cruelty and death, become more healthy or yes even if it is to 'be cool' I cannot for the life of me see why anyone else consider's it their business or that it is anything other than a positive for all.
Yes, it's definitely Greggs t…tag:harringayonline.com,2019-01-17:844301:Comment:11458492019-01-17T23:12:38.167ZSarahhttps://harringayonline.com/profile/SarahMoore195

Why do you care what other people eat ( Albert )? People you've never met. And further why do you care what other people eat to such a degree you go on a local community noticeboard to criticise them for exercising their own choices?
