Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Following up from the "Inadequate" report last year, it seems like Haringey Council has decided to suspend the free funding for 3-4 year olds based on the fact that they are not going to fund underachieving centres

Orange Day Nursery, obviously, is not going to pick up the bill. So it's ultimately the parents that are being punished and will have to pay for the nursery's mistakes.

The nursery is promising that Ofsted will revisit in January, where they will get a good report again and the nursery will get the funding reinstated. I have yet to get written confirmation that Ofsted are, in effect, coming in January and we are not just waiting for Godot.

Thoughts? or recommendations for good nurseries around with spaces for a 3yo until next September?

Ofsted have an obligation to repeat inspection within 12 months, therefore have to by 4/1/14. The council in my mind therefore have been very shortsighted not to wait a couple of weeks for the outcome of next inspection which is likely to show improvement given the changes then funding will be reinstated again. It appears they are penalising parents because ofsted have left repeating the inspection until the last moment. I have sent complaint to council and ofsted asking if ofsted inspection can be expedited and council postpone their decision until inspection. I suggest others do the same. It is likely the funding will be reinstated before the date when the funding has been set to be withdrawn hence the ludicrousness of the decision by council! People's voice can count...

I have also contacted the council. Could not agree more about their short sightedness on this.
