Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

My sister is down from the north in a few weeks and she's  asking about outdoor swimming/paddling. Can anyone recommend anywhere, please. Her daughter is mths.

18 months....should say!

Park Road Lido in Crouch End - is great for kids.

I'd advise booking in advance on their website otherwise you'll have to endure a big queue.

The 2pm - 5pm session will be pretty busy today but the 10am -  1pm tomorrow a little less frenetic.

Alternatively there are paddling pools in Priory Park & Clissold Park

The paddling pool at lordship rec was filled just last week and the kids were having a blast...

Thanks for the replies. I'll pass them to my sis.

Was chatting to a local friend today who goes to the lido at Parliament Hill Fields. Easy by train from Harringay. Quiet quiet early in on the day.

The mixed pond at hampered Heath (5 mins from the Heath station) is very special but you'll have to babysit as they only allow children over 8. The fountains at Granary Square are good for little tots though.

Children 8-15 are allowed to swim in the Hampstead Ponds if accompanied by an adult, but they must be comfident swimmers and not mind that you can't touch/see the bottom!

I can't brave Hampstead ponds for that very reason! For an 18 month old Priory Park would be great. Nice cafe too.

Otherwise London fields lido, which is a heated pool, and fab. And in a few weeks it may not be that warm outside. Crouch end lido is heated a bit but not seen many kids there unless it’s a hot sunny day, when it’s heaving and difficult to get in
