Haringey Council have allocated £550,000 to enhance the internal spaces in the six smaller libraries in Haringey, as well as £500,000 to improve the IT in all the libraries. The information about the whole programme for the six libraries can be found here
£80-90,000 is allocated for enhancements to Stroud Green & Harringay Library alongside additional work to maintain the fabric of the building.
Although not part of the funded enhancement project, Haringey Council have also commissioned a pilot study showing how a new staircase, platform lift, and external fire escape could permit safe and accessible use of the first floor.
The plans for Stroud Green and Harringay Library are now up in the library as well as feedback forms for comments from the public.
Please come to the library study the plans, ask questions, and help shape the proposals with your comments and suggestions.
Short guided tours of upstairs (once an elegant 3-bedroom Librarian’s family apartment - now vacant) will be available during drop-in sessions (ask for details at the library or see below).
