Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

My postie told me this morning that the boss of Royal Mail is German, and currently holed up in Switzerland running the show remotely while his staff deal with the crisis situation. No wonder things are in such a mess.

Hahaha ditto. Whats the significance anyways. It’s not as if he’s delivering parcels door to door. What exactly is the issue with him being German? I have German family and 2 inbound parcels from DE - might have him put in a word and get that sorted LOL.

Whereas ours has almost collapsed. No-one is blaming the posties - it's clear that they themselves feel management has not done a great job of planning for or responding to the crisis, or supporting frontline staff.

That's very lucky for you but I've gotten mail three times in the past month, including a bill that was weeks overdue by the time it was delivered. I haven't even gotten BoJo's letter to the nation yet. No complaints with the hard-working posties, but obviously there are some issues with Royal Mail going on that need to be addressed.

You do know that there is a pandemic going on and that many Royal Mail workers are off sick at the same time as many more people are doing shopping on line ?

Royal Mail are doing their best.

Yes, I had heard about the pandemic. Thanks for reminding me. During Christmas Royal Mail hires extra carriers, and it appears they are not doing so now despite so many people being out of work. Friends in hard-hit New York City are still getting their mail, and every other carrier in the UK are still delivering with no issues. I absolutely feel for the posties in our area, they are working flat out. But they also seem to feel there are issues that need to be addressed, so I don't know why it seems to offend you when I say it.

I'm not offended. Christmas is predictable, world-wide pandemics, less so.
