Thanks to this website for reliable plumbing recommendations

The ballcock in my toilet system broke off last night and so I had to wedge it with a bottle to stop the water from continually pouring into the system.  

I looked on this website to get an emergency plumber and rang and left messages for Neil Prothero and Michael Cosgrove first thing this morning.  

Neil got back to me within 20 minutes, and said that fortunately for me he was in my area and could pop in this morning to take a look.  A few hours later he came, said he could fix it once he'd bought the part, and it was all completed within an hour.  He said he can't usually respond as fast as this as he's very busy, but he was in the area anyway and the job was straightforward.

Michael Cosgrove kindly texted me within an hour of my call to him, apologising for being too busy to be able to help me, and recommending another plumber who is also recommended on HOL.
