This brings tears to my eyes every time I see it as I was honoured to be a close friend to Nick, and he had been part of my life for many years. His sad death in September has had a profound effect on me.

Until we meet in that great workshop in the sky, I will miss you dearly, buddy.

RIP Nikos.

Thanks for the link Paul. An impressive person. All those skills!
He won numerous top goldsmiths and jewellery awards but never bragged about it. He was considered one of the best jewellers in the country. He showed me a crystal Faberge egg he made, a copy of one that he repaired, and even the top Faberge expert was fooled. The only way they could tell it was not made by Faberge was because Nick's one didn't have the Faberge hallmark. He was made a Freeman of the City of London because of his award and contributions towards the jewellery industry - he could herd his sheep across London Bridge without paying tolls.
Whenever he made something which I considered perfect, he said he gave himself 5 minutes of arrogance, and then in his mind he would rip it to pieces, therefore he was always striving to excellence.
One other thing about Nick, he would never look up to people who had more than him, and never look down at people who had less than him.
