Ally Pally's architect, Alfred Meeson, is better known than Dubmill realises. The Dictionary of National Biography has an entry for him, and there's lots on the web. He was born in 1808 at 67 Aldermanbury, London, and died in 1885 at 4 Hemstal Rd, Hampstead. He trained in architecture but had a great aptitude for engineering. He was practicing as an architect in Wakefield when Barry, who was constructing the Houses of Parliament. Barry had assigned the ventilation to a Dr Reid, whom he had to sack for making a disastrous mess of things. Barry called in Meeson, who lived in the building while sorting out the mess. He stayed on, overseeing its construction. Thereafter he practiced as a civil engineer from premises in Pall Mall. He was engineer for many projects including the Great Exhibition, the Royal Opera House, Albert Hall, Albert Memorial. His work on AP represented a brief return to architecture and made good use of his engineering skills.
He was my grand-uncle and I have a copy of a dageurotype of him. He was a tall, lean and slightly stooped, with mutton-chop sideburns.0

That's interesting, links between AP and S Kensington. Of course Ally Pally's materials were recycled from an exhibition building there. Would be great if you can reproduce here your granduncle's picture, mutton chops and all!

I wonder if the post about "strange noises coming from Alexandra Park" has anything to do with this.  Maybe the aliens have landed and they are in Ally Pally tooling up to steal our women.  I'm calling David Ike.

Do you think they might be interested in older women?

You send him a message via Youtube.  Im sure the guy will really love them 2 bits on info to connect into this theory.

But for the love of Christ, dont tell him it came from Harringay Online.   I know we love a bit of publicity, but I think that would be taking it, too far :P

And it seems he has been in a long fight against David Icke.  His got loads of videos on him.  And they are also funny as hell :D

Doctor Who first exposed the truth, a few years back. It showed how the population's brains had been taken over by their TV sets, via the waves beamed from the Ally Pally TV mast. I seem to remember Maureen Lipman was behind it all ..

Bang on the nail, matey! What clinched it for me were the wings or horns so obviously emanating from the archbishop's bonce when he 'squared up to his chair' as the narrator put it! Beware of chairs and squaring up to them! You never know what's behind you!

Here's another illuminating video from the same chap. I don't think he gets much sleep, poor bloke.

What's really scary is the demonstration of the human capacity to believe in totally nutty ideas – a seemingly intelligent brain where the wiring has got it catastrophically wrong.
