Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This one again... rubbish/recycling collection

Sorry if this is a repetitive topic on HoL. Even I have posted about it before. But here goes. I live on Green Lanes itself and after dropping my boy off at school I just saw the bin men throwing the rubbish and recycling in to the same hopper on the vehicle. No doubt. One compartment, all smushed together. Previously I've always been told I'm imagining it or 'mis-saw' but... not this time. Got it's reg. should anyone be interested who follows this sort of thing. DK07 BCO. Now, in the scale of the universe, bigger picture, it shouldn't cheese me off as much as it did. I must have too little else to think about. But hey, I pay council tax too.

Sometimes they do this is the recycling isn't correctly bagged (i.e. in black bags) or has some stuff in it that can't be recycled. But I'm being generous... My food waste only gets picked up about every three weeks at the moment, which is great in summer heat.

Apparently they're not allowed to do that anymore. If we put it in the recycling they have to recycle it.

Also, as I say, there was no option to recycle on this lorry. It only had the one compartment. (And just to be extra ruffled, they left a load of loose stuff including a broken bottle on the pavement. I know there are probably rules about this but for crying out loud.... THEY ARE BIN MEN, supposed to clear that stuff away. When I rule the world..... )

Green Lanes is different as the shops have their own individual rubbish collection contracts, perhaps they were picking up your stuff but were not the residential bin men your council tax pays for?

Definitely the usual collection. We put rubbish and recycling out twice a day between set hours. Green, black and pink bags all in the same hopper.

It was most definitely correctly bagged. It was MY recycling. Food waste every THREE weeks. That's awful.

Dammit, they did it again. This morning. Same lorry. Waste and recycling in the same hopper. Arrrrggghhhhhhhh
