Two days of music, theatre, arts & crafts, food and family activity in Walthamstow’s Lloyd Park.
Programmed in partnership by Barbican and Create, the free festival makes full use of the landscape of the park, home to the award-winning William Morris Gallery.
MUSIC: The festival will include two music stages featuring international and local artists.
THEATRE & PERFORMANCE: The programme on the theatre and performance stage includes performances and workshops by hip-hop dance company Boy Blue Entertainment; fusion dance company Bollywood Vibes plus Circus school Gravity Circus Centre.
FOOD: The Real Food Festival will provide food from around the globe. Artillery Island (in the garden’s moat) will be home to the Summer Appetite Festival with spoken word, poetry and perfomance alongside edible treats.
CRAFT & FASHION: E17 Designers Market will showcase handmade gifts and jewellery by local makers. Budding artists will have the chance to explore the legacy of William Morris, through arts and crafts workshops and demonstrations in the Useful and Beautiful Craft Marquee, as well as explore the William Morris Gallery, which will be open throughout the weekend.
FAMILY: The weekend will also feature family activities including running and cycling in the sports arena, bowling taster sessions, a mini garden party for under 5s and the Soul Picnic chill out zone with DJs.
