Tracy Emin Urges us all to Write Letter to Prime Minister to Stop Brexit

On Robert Peston's Peston show on ITV last night, artist and Londoner Tracey Emin, urged all those opposed to Brexit to write to the Prime Minister.

In an exchange with Peston and co-guest, Conservative MP Antoinette Sandbach, Emin explained that she's written a letter to Theresa May expressing her opposition to Brexit and asking that a second referendum be held. She urged all those opposed to Brexit to do the same. She read out her two sentence letter, before sealing it in an envelope (10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA).  The wording was:

Dear Prime Minister May,

I would like you to know that I am strongly opposed to the United Kingdom leaving the European Union. I wish for another referendum.

In the discussion which preceded the letter, Antoinette Sandbach, opined "Brexit seems to have let some awful genie out of the bottle". For those of you who share this sense of desperate unease about the state of the nation and like Emin are casting about for something...anything they can do rather then to sit idly by, with the balance so finely tuned right now, writing a letter might be the least you can do so as to avoid doing nothing.
