Wood Green Animal Charity have a fundraising campaign this week called Unwanted Pet Week
Every week they take in more than 90 homeless and abandoned animals. They’re the pets that people just can’t, or won’t, care for anymore. They give them food, vet care and a place of safety until they find them a loving home. With over 650 pets to care for every single day, they can’t do it without your support. They rehome over 5000 animals a year at their 3 centres in London N22, Herts and Cambs.
You can read about the stories of Eddie, a puppy driven to a field and left there and Banana an abandoned unneutered cat in a shoebox.
Like all rescue places, they also need more people to give a permanent home to a rescue pet or provide a temporary foster home. Their London Shelter is also looking for Moggy Midwives as they get inundated with kittens. Wood Green believe in neutering kittens by four months of age. It is so vital to get pets neutered and microchipped.
