via Haringey Climate Emergency - Urgent Action for Healthy Streets
who need as many supporters on bikes, scooters, or on foot Sunday 30th June from 1pm until 2pm to let Haringey Council know urgent action is needed to transform our streets and tackle climate change.
Can you join in and invite as many friends and family as possible?
We want our children to be able to breathe clean air wherever they are in the borough.
We need streets which promote healthier, safer, greener, environments for residents in Haringey.
The full list of asks (created by Haringey Living Streets and the Haringey Cycling Campaign) can be accessed here
Gathering outside the entrance of Downhills Park on West Green Road (by the entrance of Park View School, and Forks and Green Cafe).
People need to arrive at 1pm prompt to have as many people as possible when the presention of asks is made to our Cabinet Lead for Environment and other councillors.
It will be family friendly, there will be some placards so you can add your messaging if you like, and chalk/games to keep kids entertained.
Good idea. Will anyone from the council be there?
Not sure how it's going to work as it's a re-post. It would appear so.
Maybe a question for them via the FB page?
Ok. Thanks Liz. I might join FB one day. It looks like it's become a necessary evil for modern life.
The wording of the call out above would suggest that there will be councillors present.
The Haringey Labour Borough Conference is being held that day at Park View School, right next to the park entrance, so there should be a good turn out of councillors. I’m going btw.
Ah. That makes sense then.
I’m one of the organisers for Sunday. We have representatives from Labour and Lib Dems attending. It would be great to have you with us if you can join.
These are the full asks, this action coincides with the start of London Climate Action week which starts on Monday. It will be very friendly, and won’t take long, but we need numbers!
