Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Can anyone please recommend a vet in the Stroud Green area?

Looking online I can see Zasman at Stroud Green (could walk there) and Hills on Park Rd.

Did not think I will need a vet so fast as so far my cats only ever seen vets for injections so a bit of a worry as one seems unwell.

They are all insured with PetPlan so prefer a vet who will do a direct claim if needed.

It would take me over an hour to get to my regular vet in old place and he is excellent at every level but that particular cat stresses so much in a carrier that he is foaming at the mouth and looks like he is about to get a heart attack when he sees a carrier so I would rather spare him the stress of a long journey.

Any recommendations please? I know some vets are better with dogs and some with cats and generally some better than others so need some local knowledge here please?

Thanks a lot.

HILLS, CROUCH END- EVERYONE i KNOW USES THEM,  AND SO DO i NOW, had quite a few recoomendations from here

Definitely Hills. Ours goes there they are a family business not a chain.

Also if your cat is sick and you don't have a car take her in a cab, walking there could put her in a state of shock and be potentially dangerous. A cab to Hills is about £8 from Stroud Green. I hope it isn't serious and that she gets better soon.

We've used Village Vet for about 15 years now and they are excellent. We always go to their Winchmore Hill branch (but they have closer branches). I highly rate Simon the head vet there and have relied on his expertise a lot over the years and I'm very fussy - if he moved, I would have to follow him! They are open until 8pm on weekdays and they are also open Sat and Sun and Christmas etc and I also like their 24 hour service. (You'll find that local vets like Hills use Village Vet as their 24 hour cover).

In respect of Hills and Zasmans, I haven't used them personally - but I've always heard people say good things about Hills - they have a good reputation - a local family business, well established. So for a close vet, go for Hills. Tigha and Lauren give good advice.
I have pet insurance, and my vet has always been paid direct by the insurer. PetPlan is a good insurer so I'm sure the vet will wait for payment from the insurer, but you can always check with the vets you choose - I don't think there will be any problem at all.
Hope your cat feels better.

Hills. Carol Hill is the most skilled and empathetic vet I've ever met. A real Dr Doolittle.

I was not impressed with Zasman's when I went as they gave me some very misleading advice about the fees at the Royal Vet College (who I went on to use without complaint for several years).
Aww poor Fred, I hope he gets better soon. Did you move recently? He might be a bit disorientated/stressed. Keep us updated on his progress.
Yes far better to be safe than sorry, hopefully it's nothing serious.

I just sent you a connection request with details of my friend who is the dog walker, did you get it?

If you accept my connection request the message will disappear so make sure to write it down or screenshot it. I can always send again.

I would like to message you about something else anyway, but can't until you accept my connection.

Get well Fred x

Aww poor Fred, he is in the best place. Let us know how he gets on tomorrow.

Poor Fred, hope he gets better soon. Well done for sensibly having pet insurance to cover vet fees. Hopefully his temperature will start to come down soon.
