Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I think I might need to go next week as my cat is poorly.

Similar to my hospital thread, anyone care to share what their vet visits have been like in the last few weeks?

Do they keep the pet in if they have to? Staffing problems?

Zasman Vet have quite a few in the area

Hi,

Sorry to hear your cat isn't well. We took our dog to Zasman (Stoke Newington) 10 days ago and again for a follow up on Friday. They are definitely still open and taking appointments for animals that need it.

They wouldnt let me in the premises as it's so small inside. I spoke to the vet on the phone first and dropped my dog at the door for the vet to take away for examination. They told me to wait outside/come back in 20 minutes.

Hope your cat is feeling better soon!

When we got our cats we signed up at Vets4Pets in Friern Barnet. For purely Keeping-Up-With-The-Joneses purposes I probably wouldn’t do that now, but the girls are 5 and I’ve never had an issue, the head vet is very friendly and loves both of them...

Anyway, my fragile society ego aside, I ended up having to take them in the second week of lockdown for boosters, which the vet deemed essential. No issues - the young vet nurse was in a mask anyway. She asked if the girls were nervous (they are, especially if they’re about to have a probe in rear and a pointy thing in their back...). So she invited me in provided we stood 2m apart. Everything else was normal. I even managed to get a job lot of food from P@H on the way out.

So “no different to normal” was my experience. Right down to being viciously ignored for the following 48 hours for letting this happen to them *again*...

Hill's on Park Rd: Phone them when you arrive at their door.  Then someone comes and collects the pet from you and you wait outside.  Then all communications done by phone.  For payment you go into the reception with nobody except person behind counter, and pet in its carrier on the bench there (or dogs tied with their lead to something on the wall) for you to pick and take out at end of transaction.

Hills are good and you can pay by phone - they are thorough and have a proper phone discussion with you

Hello, Mal,

I also use Hill’s Vets (see other comments below, which describe how they operate now with social distancing). Just before the lockdown, they said they were only seeing urgent cases. However, they did see my cat last week, to avoid her booster shots expiring and they have been very flexible with appointments. The system they have works well, though be prepared to wait a bit longer than usual.

If you have a car, you might have difficulty getting parking nearby, so give plenty of time for space-finding if you are using Hill’s Vets.

They were recommended to me years ago and I have always used them - very efficient and they open early, stay open til, 7pm and are open on Saturdays.

I hope your cat gets seen and recovers quickly!

Fiona
