Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I found out about the Wood Green Crown Court Open day a few weeks ago when one of the Court staff approached me to ask permission to use thepictures and historical text I'd published about the history of the building.

I thought I'd drop by and have a quick nose around. I was very surprised to see a queue over 100 metres long awaiting entrance. I found my contact at the Court to learn that she was astonished by the size of the attendance.  Since I'd added the event to HoL, it was picked up by three or four other local sites and the staff member seemed to think this had been responsible for the turnout. I suspect that it was more to do with it being on a nice day in Easer and local people wanted somewhere to take the kids. I suppose there's also a morbid kind of fascination with such places.

I didn't hang around for one of the mock trials, but I was glad I dropped by.

From the areas that were accessible, almost nothing remains from the old interiors I showed on my other post except for the cafe.
