Historical Images of Harringay's Finsbury Park

It's a surprise to many, but Finsbury Park is officially within Harringay (Harringay Ward, that is). Here's a small collection of historical photos.

To view most of the images in this album, you'll need to add Hugh as your connection. You can do this by visiting his page and clicking the link under his photo

Glad you like 'em.

A few of the images are from Bruce Castle and I have watermarked those accordingly and posted them at low resolution as agreed wit BC.

I imagine the original postcards are out of copyright, or as good as. Where original copyright has expired, all the digital versions create their own new copyright and the digital versions of all images posted on HoL are copyright of the person who posted them. You'll need to approach whoever posted an image you want to use. We also ask that you clearly reference your source for the image (i.e. HoL) and provide a link through to the image on our website.

Good luck with your project.

What a superb collection - and the first picture I have seen anywhere of the old Model Village which was such a joy to us in the 40s and 50s. In fact so much of what we see here was extant in my youth - we rowed the boats, kept off the flower, played cricket, flew aeroplanes, listened to concerts and so often just walked and talked. Joy. Thank you.
