Thanks for sharing.  I am desperate to see one for Lausanne Road.  I notice that most of the front walls had railings on top.  I wonder what happened to them.  Did they go out of fashion?

Many were taken down during the war for melting down to make armaments. I'm uncertain about the truth if it, but I've heard that in fact the metal wasn't needed and that the call was more motivated by a desire to rally people than it was by need.

That is interesting, and sad if it meant that if you didn't give your railing or gate away you weren't patriotic

Do you have any photos of Warwick Gardens prior to the V2 bombing during the war? My uncle and aunt lived at number 8 when the bomb landed on the Ever Ready laboratories. It blew the fronts off numbers 2 - 18, and numbers 1 -11 were demolished. These were replaced by prefabs until the flats were built in the early 60s.
