As I recall this is the reception area, mostly used for events although I do recall an information desk for Hornsey Borough Council somewhere here.

I remember our school (Priory Vale, ex-North Harringay Secondary Modern) prize giving was held there in September (I think) 1964 and somehow they got the famous Douglas Bader to hand  out the prizes/certificates.

Let's hope the place opens up soon, I love it. My wife had  a couple of exhibitions there in the PLY gallery and I was lucky enough to be shown around the basement by the caretaker at the time. Fascinating secure vaults for storing rate payers subs.
