Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Looking west towards Ally Pally which is just visible above the old railway bridge carrying the old Palace Gates Line towards Wood Green, Alexandra Park Station.

The first wooden house dates from the early nineteenth or later eighteenth century. About half way along the row of houses you can just make out the pub sign of the original Jolly Anglers pub. just two years before it was rebuilt.

This view on Google maps is roughly the equivalent view today.

Funny, I just about remember the bridge across the high road but don't remember the one in station road, probably because I didn't go up there as much. Also, I agree with Janes comment above. I wish there was a google street view for back in the 60's and 70's.
