@Laurence .. yes Ward's was quite classy and the Rudd's at High Road corner West Green Road also had the same system of cash collecting.. I used to spend what seemed to be hours watching that system..

Burgesses at Bruce Grove used the suction/vacuum system of cash collecting (not sure what is called)..

Thanks for adding it again John D . I imagine both buildings were extremely modern for their time.. The newer shot is taken near to Bruce Grove..

I do wonder why showroom type windows were deemed necessary on the second floor though..
