Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Turnpike Lane at Former Junction with Hornsey Park Road, c1905

This picture shows the houses that were demolished when Wightman Road was aligned with Hornsey Park Road. Working from the left of the picture, the first six houses were demolished. Towards the right of the picture, the second terrace of four, bookended with the peaked roofs are now on the corner of Hornsey Park Road

This image is contemporary with the one above. It overlaps with it and shows the next part of Turnpike Lane going east. The first terrace of four houses in this picture (the one towards the right in the picture above) is the one now standing on the corner of Hornsey Park Road.

Oops - got my left and right muddled when describing the surviving houses. Now corrected.
