Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

A painting of Alexandra Park in Spring, once exhibited in Buckingham Palace, is now hanging in Green Lanes

Currently on display in SNUG cafe on Green Lanes (between Seymour and Hewitt Road) is a large art work by Christopher Green depicting Spring in Alexandra Park.

During the Summer, this drawing was on public display at the Palace as part of the Prince and Patron exhibition curated by Prince Charles to mark his birthday. It is now hanging pride of place in SNUG.

It's very large and very impressive.

The artist, Christopher Green, works entirely on site, usually in monochrome ink on a very large scale. There is an artist statement on the wall which explains that the drawing depicts the arrival of Spring with trees gradually coming into leaf before reaching the periphery, showing early June in full flower.

It is roughly a 200 degree view with a W3 bus coming over the hill in the top left hand corner.

Pop in for a coffee and maybe a cheeky cake and view this amazing piece as the photo can't really do it justice.
