Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We are looking for somebody who could lay us decking. But - and that's the problem, we want 'fake' one.
The one that doesn't rot. We've seen it first at the seaside and were amazed how it stays intact next to the sea.
Our garden is North facing and some bits near the house don't get any sun, whilst others do. So, we were told regular decking might be less than ideal...
I've had samples here and some are very nice!

Apparently one needs to know how to put it down, because it needs special fixings and framing underneath?

Anybody has any experience with it? Or could recommend something or somebody?

Many thanks,
Kris

Hello kris,

You sure are right - wooden decking is not suitable for this country! in my opinion. the plastic version which you are talking about sure is much better and ages very well.

The decking system sure does require special fixings and a frame which are usually aluminium and sit below the boards. the decking itself must also be specially cut and your right a skilled person is required to install the system. i have not known any small patios to be installed using this system as its so expensive and is mainly for commercial and council use, however they do stock the system in builders depot in southgate and Travis perkins in palmers green. Pop into travis perkins in palmers green whereby there is a display of the whole system and leaflets and contact numbers.

Ahh, thank you so much for your reply and help!!

Will do tomo, well, today actually...

Thanks,
Kris

no worries!
