Hot off the press is our 2019 summer holiday programme. The web link is here:

I am really pleased we have invested in our summer holiday programme, and other school holidays as well. Last year we got a programme together very quickly, including introducing the hugely popular £1swim for children and young people. This is back for 2019 and is becoming a firm feature! This year's programme builds on this, with a huge variety of sports, arts, crafts, cooking, dance, creative media, gardening, history based activities at Bruce Castle Museum, chess lessons in Finsbury Park, multi-sport camps and lost more. It is inclusive, with many organisations participating including Ally Pally, Spurs, the Selby Centre, Living Under One Sun Boxing Academies and many more.
The booklet is being printed now, and all schools are being asked to distribute to students - we want everyone, and every family, to have their own copy!
The library service are running the Summer Reading Challenge and lots of other activities so look out for their programme too. We all know the damage austerity and benefits cuts have done to children, families and communities. That makes this programme even more important, and it is money well-spent ensuring children and young people have a busy, stimulating and enjoyable summer. In a wider approach to tackling child poverty, this summer we have also introduced free packed lunches into a couple of venues. We have some way to go, but this is a start!
