A question for all you gardeners out there - the small holly bush that forms part of my front (privet) hedge has flowered this year for the first time ever in the 25 years since I moved here. Does this mean it might get berries and does it have to be pollinated for this to happen? I understand there are male and female plants and only the females get berries - no idea how to tell which it is though.
I am just about to get the hedge cut, and wondering if I should ask the person doing it to spare as much of the blossom as possible...
