Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Jazz on the Green is a family-oriented mini jazz festival in Muswell Hill. The event will be opened by Muntu Valdo, a Cameroonian jazz artist who is a regular at WOMAD; and headlined by Ronnie Scott regulars Dave Lewis’ 1Up.

Belmeis, a local cocktail and world music bar in Muswell Hill, has teamed up with The Laboratory to organise the festival to raise money for two charities: Heart Doctors and The Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC).

The outdoor event will take place at The Laboratory’s Muswell Hill site near Alexandra Palace on Sunday 14th July, from 14.30-17.00. Muntu Valdo is a renowned musician from Cameroon. Muntu who plays regular live gigs across Europe, Africa and Asia. He is a multi-instrumentalist and his self-styled ‘Sawa Blues’ sound is heavily influenced by his African roots. Dave Lewis’ 1Up is a Ronnie Scott regular and the band is highly regarded on the European Jazz scene for their raw, lyrical sound. The UK leg of Japan based brewing company, Asahi, is sponsoring the event, and a range of Ashai drinks will be available.

There will also be a BBQ and salad bar. Muntu Valdo says: “If you can make it, please come along to Jazz on the Green and support these two charities and your local community. It will be a fantastic day, and the more people who attend, the more money we can donate”.
