Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi

I recently bought 6 boxes of 15mg per cartridge nicotine inhalators that I no longer need. 20 cartridges per box. I would like £16 per box. Any takers?

Cheaper to buy cigarettes

Do these things really work ?

It is not cheaper to buy cigarettes as when I used those - 1 cartridge lasted me a whole day - despite them recommending about 8 per day from what I remember. But yes, I still smoke s did not work for me. No will power.

But those (as any other nicotine replacement) can be prescribed by a GP in which case you will only pay prescription charge and GP can prescribe more than one box on one prescription.

And if one has a prepayment certificate - they will be free.

Thanks Anka - I understand now.

I'm always a bit dubious about substitutes to help in giving up addictions.

eg why would one buy alcohol-free beer when it doesn't give you the buzz that alcohol does ?

I've never tried nicotine replacement products but I did stop smoking cold turkey after 40 a day for 40 years. It didn't need will power - I just decided I had had enough of going out to the street to have a fag in the cold and the rain and having people looking pityingly at me as I did it. I thought " I'm better than this ".

It was uncomfortable for a day or two but no worse than that although occasional cravings lasted for a year or so when triggered by circumstances.

I was successful in giving up alcohol and cigarettes ( not at the same time ) because I really WANTED to.

Good luck if you try again.

Similar with vegetarians/vegans forever looking for "meat substitutes" - I am vegetarian, I eat vegetables.....

If one wants to give something up, no point looking for "substitutes"

How times have changed. When I worked at the BBC in the 60s, the studio control desks had built-in ashtrays :-)

When I came to London in 1991 - I remember smoking inside the office still.

You could also smoke on planes...

This product has been used by a family member instead of cigarettes for the last few years. Replacement therapy and less damaging I guess. Now no longer wanted.

Can’t you return to where you bought it from?

Those are 16.50 per box at Boots now as as above - can be witten on prescription by GP making them much cheaper or even free.

If you have a receipt you should be able to give it back?

Not eligible for return from where I bought them unfortunately
