I wonder what happened to all that stuff - in some architectural salvage yard somewhere?

I believe Hugh is spending the evening bidding for it on ebay for me (never got the hang of ebay myself), so I can install it in my featureless living room.

In the town of Savannah, Georgia, USA they have done a beautiful restoration on the Lucas Theatre. It took a few million dollars and a lot of trial and error but they finally restored it to it's original glory! What a shame that this beautiful ornate cinema went into decay and the skilled workmanship has been lost forever.

The good old Colly was at the end of our road, Harringay Road.    Went there many times over the years but never imagined the architecture to be so "posh".  Mind you it would never have held any interest to me back then between 5 and 12 years of age (1954 - 61 time).   We then "upgraded" to the ABC Ritz, Turnpike Lane.   But the old Colly is dear to our hearts in memory.

Yes the Colly was our nearest cinema, usually went on a Friday night, 2 films plus the news, real good value in those days
