Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Clarence Tavern (Sir George Robey), Finsbury Park c1905
This 1870s pub was originally called The Clarence and renamed the Sir George Robey in the 1960s (named after an English comedian, singer and actor in musical theatre, who became known as one of the greatest music hall performers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries).
During the late 1980s this place was a well-known live music venue. A quick trip around Google will bring up plenty of reminiscences.

My son's band Terminus played there. It was the kind of pub where it was considered polite to wipe your feet as you exited to the street.

One of those pubs which was a 'venue' in its own right. "Meet you at the Robey (or George)" was a common cry in my 50/60s days.
