Fish 'n' Chips film in Harringay

One for film and/or Harringay fans. 

I had the following in my mailbox recently. Thanks to Chris for sending it in.

Hi Hugh,

Have you heard of a film called Fish 'n Chips? It is filmed in Harringay (and Cyprus) and has shots of the Yassar Halim, the entrance to Salisbury and quite a few just of Green Lanes itself. I stumbled across it at the Cypriot Film Festival in Toronto (I have moved to Toronto last year after 4 years in Harringay).

I think the fish shop is actually in Clerkenwell but the main street scenes are definitely in Harringay.

Hello Hugh, hello Chris,

I'm the director of 'Fish n' chips'. Indeed I filmed in Harringay. The Fish shop is located on Farringdon road 102 EC1R 3EA, so it is really in Clerkenwell but the rest locations are in Harringay. There is also a scene in Finsbury park.

In Uk, the film was screened at the East End Film Festival once and it will be another screening next October. You can see details on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/fish.n.chips.movie

How possible is to arrange a projection in Harringay as well?

Hi Elias. Thanks for stopping by. I've left a note on the Facebook page of The Salisbury to see if they'd be interested. Otherwise, not too far away, in West Green, is Haringey Independent Cinema who might be interested.

Just had a look at the link- the film looks great- a screening in the Salisbury pub would be great- i have quite a few friends who would love the oppurtunity to see it and are regulars in the Salisbury pub.

Sorry about the late reply! We would definitely be interested in a screening at the pub, particularly as we are hoping to start a film night every other Sunday! Just looking into licenses etc...will keep you posted.
