A Noisy Christmas from Network Rail

Previous postings on HoL (here) have provided information about Network Rail work due to take place over Christmas which will affect residents living near the East Coast main line and/or the Gospel Oak to Barking Line i.e. track relaying between Harringay station and Finsbury Park; pile driving for the electrification work on the GOBLIN line (including the link up to the East Coast line).  All very noisy.

As if that wasn’t enough, yesterday another letter arrived from Network Rail informing residents that work on the footbridge at Harringay station will be taking place from 00.00 on Friday 25 December ‘till 05.00 Sunday 27 December (round the clock working?) to strengthen the bridge by replacing six girder beams.  So even more noise.  I would presume that the bridge will be closed to pedestrians.

In addition work will be taking place on cleaning out a culvert on Wightman Road to improve track drainage and prevent flooding and work will also be taking place to maintain and repair the overhead power lines.
