Alexandra Palace Farmers' Market
Market selling foods grown or made in the South-East (from Norfolk to Sussex and Surrey to Kent). Some 35 farmers and producers run stalls selling vegetables, fruit, bread, cheese, eggs, meat, and 'delicatessen' foods. Several stalls are organic.
Every Sunday from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. normally just inside the 'Hornsey Gate', which is on the west side of the Park at the junction of Priory and Park Roads at the foot of Muswell Hill, beside Safestore. However on Sundays when there are major shows at the Palace, the market is held at Campsbourne Junior School, Nightingale Lane, N8. See market website for more details.
Freightliners City Farm Farmers' Market
Organic produce including fruit, veg, bread, juices and meat straight from growers in East Anglia. There will also be a selection of other items such as plants, gardening supplies, animal supplies, crafts and meals. The produce is supplied by Eostre, which is a co-operative of organic farmers. The aim of the market is to generate an income for Freightliners, allowing them to run additional educational events and offer training opportunities. As well as the market, the City Farm has goats, sheep, chickens, horses and much else, and there's a garden and picnic area.
Saturdays, from 10 am to 3 pm. at Freightliners, Sheringham Road, N7. By car, travelling south down Holloway Road, turn right onto Liverpool Road (a short way past the University of North London buildings). Sheringham Road is the second main road on the right. Palmers Green Farmers' and Community Market
Sunday market with foods including fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, cheese, bread, some organic (meat, poultry, eggs, bread), as well as some 'delicatessen' foods and craft stalls. A 'proper' Farmers Market, with strict rules that all produce must be grown or made within 100 miles of London, grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the seller, and that stalls must be staffed by the producer, a family member or someone who is directly involved in growing, raising or producing the goods on sale.
10 am - 2.00 p.m. beside Palmers Green Rail Station, Alderman's Hill, N13.
Islington Farmers' Market
London's first ever and most established farmers' with at least 30 stalls each week.
Moved to a new home, in 2010 at the West End of Chapel Market, between Penton Street and Baron Street, N1 9PZ. Sundays between 10am and 2pm.
Sunnyside Community Garden Organic Food Market
Organic bread, pasta, juices and meat available, together with fresh fruit and vegetables grown by Eostre, which is a co-operative of organic farmers based mainly in East Anglia. Some of the money from the sale of the produce will help to support the mental health training and development classes that are run at Sunnyside.
Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm, at Sunnyside Garden, at the junction of Sunnyside Road and Hazelville Road, N19. Buses: 41, 91 from Crouch End & 210 from Highgate and Finsbury Park. Rail and Tube: Finsbury Park then bus 210 or Archway Tube then bus 41 or 210.
