Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Spring really felt as though it had arrived on Tuesday and as I meandered down Mattison Road on my way back from a library trip, I couldn't resist taking some snaps on my phone.

First thing to admire was the four pretty street trees in blossom at the top of the road.

As I walked a little further, I was struck by the loveliness of our cluster of "free baroque" school buildings at South Harringay with its little swimming pool, gifted to the community to teach the children to swim as too many were losing their lives in the New River. Then I crossed over to see how our Decorated church, once Primitive Methodist, then Catholic and now a house of hospitality for refugees, looked in the Spring sunshine.

Back at the school side, peering over the parapet of the bridge, I couldn't see many of the numerous birds that call the New River home, but I did admire the riverside garden that the Junior School have built to grow veggies and teach the kids about gardening and growing

Peeking into the Passage, there are the pretty mosaics in the flower garden in the Infants school

Inspecting the planters, maintained by the Friends of Harringay Passage, I was pleased to see the forget-me-nots were flowering, and couldn't help but be amazed by the variety of colour in one little clump.Back across the road to look at the boxes on the railings which were looking neat with some new planting by one particular friend of the Passage (Thank you Matt)

One short walk. So much treasure.

I have walked through the 'Girls' gate so many times.  Never saw it look so beautiful.  Thanks, Liz.

And the cherry blossom on pemberton road is totally beautiful, as it is in many places
