Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just to warn everyone about a scam purporting to be from Amazon (email confirmation@amazon-info.co.uk).
It tells you a bogus delivery will arrive on such and such a date but you have the option to say you didn't place the order. It then asks for your details and steals money from your account. Fortunately didn't fall for it but someone we know replied and had their account cleaned out.

I received the same email on my phone while I was on holidays, likely, I realized just before I clicked on "cancel order"....I nearly cried, as I have had in the past couple of years identity theft, cards cloned...so frustrating as there is not much you can do, other than check your bank account everyday, which I do.

Did anyone else get told they'd bought random things? We told we'd bought a fake dwarf beard and a cheese grater - not sure what these scammers think we do with our weekend... :-p
Also v sad about people being ripped off obviously - just shows how careful you need to be online these days.
That's so scary. I would be the gullible mug to fall for it
Thanks for bringing this to our attention

Some of these are very clever and even smart people get conned. Paypal, Amazon etc never ask for personal details...
