I saw a bird on the feeder in my mother's garden in Winchmore Hill that I cannot find in the books. Slender, dark-olive with a brown cap, straight small beak, close (fur-like) featherage and about 5 inches total length. I wonder if it was one of the climate change migrated species. Grateful for any feedback.

Perhaps a female blackcap - see here, in the RSPB's online bird identifier: http://www.rspb.org.uk/discoverandenjoynature/discoverandlearn/bird...

Thanks Gordon, a strong possibility, I shall keep my eyes peeled.
