Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

hello, I’m looking for the owner of a black and white cat, he breaks into our house regularly but we hadn’t seen him in a few months. We are worried his family have moved away and he has come back because this time he is wearing a black collar. I keep finding him on our sofa! Not a problem I just worry he’s not coming back to his house because we see his early morning and late nights!489F6F51-3699-4825-93C5-4B948594AF35.jpeg

Might be worth checking with Postman Pat.

Think you’ve got a new member of the family Rebecca!

Well done for posting, what a lovely cat.

If you have a secure cat carrier or can borrow one from a neighbour, any vets will scan a cat for free to see if the cat is microchipped. The vet will also be able to confirm if male or female, approximate age and whether neutered yet. (As you know, It's important for cats to be neutered to prevent more homeless cats being born and to prevent injuries). Free Cat Neutering

Vets tend to be closed over the holiday period, but I think most Village Vet branches are open until about 1pm today.

If the cat is microchipped, the owner can be easily contacted.

If not microchipped, try putting a note on collar for any owner to call you.

If you speak to the owner, it's worth giving this useful advice from rescue places, in case anything relevant -

It's vital that cats are neutered and microchipped. They recommend that cats need a catflap - for access to the back garden plus they need catflap access to get back inside their home when they want. If cats don't have a catflap, they get stuck outside when owner out, which means cats are likely to wander looking for shelter. They advise locking the catflap at night so that cats are safe inside at night as it reduces the risk of them getting lost or injured. Remember not to let them out the front door by mistake.

Will keep an eye on Animal Search.
