Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've just returned from my first visit to Buonissimo, a new little Italian restaurant that has opened on the corner of Harringay Road and West Green Road.

I had some mussels in white wine to start, followed the most delicious plate of papardelle with a wild boar ragù.  Both dishes were excellent and the service was great too.  I thoroughly recommend a visit!!!

Completely agree - I went there last weekend for the first time and was so impressed that we're going back again tonight! The seafood pasta is fantastic!

Pizza is good too!

Popped in for a latte on the way home. Excellent coffee and great service.

I'm glad you had a good experience-- I didn't. We actually took our pizza back, not something I've ever done before. Why? The pizza was cold when we returned home, despite us only being a 5 minute drive away (max), the pizzas were supposed to be 12inches but looked more 8 inches but, even more worrying, there was little toppings on the pizza. One of the pizzas, just contained cheddar cheese (my companion was French, so knows his cheeses). When he got back to request a refund, he was refused one. The chef came running out of the kitchen to shout at him and stated he could only use the (limited?) ingredients he had. Three prospective customers had arrived, heard the chef go off on one and left. What happened to the customer always being right? If they had simply apologised, offered a refund and thrown in a cheap bottle of red, that would have been satisfactory (but still disappointing). It's a real shame - as the venue looks nice and trendy--exactly the kind of business West Green Road deserves. But we won't be going back.

Thanks for this, it's nice to see some good restaurants on such a run down street,
Will try it out.

Grabbed an iPhone snap as I passed today - posted here.

We won't be going back: the seafood risotto I ordered was poor and the bruchetta we shared as a starter was on stale bread with a very salty topping. The chef seemed to burn something at some point and the entire place started smelling of burnt food and the fire alarm went off. The staff were nice but if a restaurant in Turnpike Lane starts charging £12 for a main that looks like a starter and tastes like food from a caff in the 70s then they are unlikely to do business for long, whether they look trendy or not. Very disappointing.
