Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello Friends,

I would like to propose an ambitious plan to carry out a borough wide tree canopy survey.  The idea is to produce a survey, which can then help with securing much-needed funds to carry out tree planting and other work.

I have sent this to you because for one reason or another I know that you would at least be interested.  Ideally, I will need teams of at least three volunteers per ward.  We have 19 Wards in Haringey, so somewhere in the region of 60 volunteers are required to give this rather ambitious plan legs.

I am more than happy if you would like to share this mail with anybody who may be interseted in coming onboard.  I sincerely hope that I am not being overly ambitious.  The survey will be to a nationally recognised standard and will give a real shot in the arm for a claim for funding to carry out some exciting new work.  This is something that I may well be able to get endorsement for from colleagues here at Haringey Council.

Please can you let me have expressions of interest and if enough of you can support this idea I will convene a meeting where I will go into more detail.

Kind regards

I can do this. Will write and volunteer. Can I get two more Harringay tree huggers to join me?

OK Liz, I'll give it a go.

Me too Liz

I assume you will include railway fields.

I will see if members of GRA in St Ann's might help.

I'm in

I'd be interested in helping.  It might be worth contacting the Friends of Finsbury Park, as I'm sure they'd have member who are interested too https://www.thefriendsoffinsburypark.org.uk/contact-us/ .

Good shout. Is anyone connected to them ? That said- they are physically based in Hackney!

Email link goes to Alex Fraser not Dick Tomlinson

Alex manages the service so I assume Dick is posting this on his behalf.

happy to help out

Have heard back from Dick. Hopefully there will be enough people for this to move forward.
