Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just a note to urge fellow HoLers to be cautious when using the Passage.

I was walking through with my baby just now (330pm on Tuesday) and off Pemberton, had a young teenager stalking us.  He is white, 16ish with brown hair, about 5ft 10", wearing gray sweatpants and hoodie.  He stopped in the passage when he heard us entering the passage, went to the end (at Pemberton) looked both ways along the street, then came back in and stood 30' in from the opening waiting for us (and facing us) with his hand in his pocket.  I stopped and he stayed for 3-4minutes until someone entered behind me and then he walked on.

My daughters bike was stolen on Sunday from Pemberton Road playstreet. Witness's saw 3 white teenage boys hanging around. One of which took the bike.

Whilst almost certainly coincidental, it may be part of a pattern and def worth reporting.
I walk down the passage in daytime but I think I've had a few near misses! Lots of dodgy people around. I never walk down there at night. I think will stick to Green Lanes and Wightman Road. I find Green Lanes really busy but I guess it's safer.
My husband doesn't like me using the passage at all alone. We've never had any trouble together in it and neither has a well built male friend who uses it at all hours! I look into the passage and behind it before entering. I only really feel safe at the Pemberton - Mattison bit by the school and it's okay when it's busy full of parents doing the school run.

A couple of years ago now I was walking home from visiting a friend two streets away. It was dark and around 7pm and I heard footsteps behind me and what I van only describe as a manical laughing sound! Looked behind me and it was coming from a youth with his hood pulled up and his face pretty much obscured! I came out and then walked pretty sharpish onto Green Lanes to take a longer route home. The guy was gone. That creeped me out.

I think I've probably avoided trouble a few times. A couple of times I've seen what seems to be gangs standing around the passage - so of course I walk along Green Lanes or Wightman. Another occasions I've seen people loitering around either end of the passage and avoided it. The other day (early morning) there was somebody sitting halfway down a passage so I walked around.

That's a worry and having lived here all 42 years of my life this really does anger me. I'll keep a lookout...........I'll also take a pic if I do see anything suspicious.
