Closure of Park Road pool

The main pool at Park Road Leisure Centre is due to close while major improvement work takes place.

The pool will close on Friday 12 September, with work expected to continue until the end of the year.

The diving pool will close on 7 September while preparations get underway, and will remain closed throughout the improvement works.

The work will deliver a high quality, state-of-the art pool, but we know that there will be disruption for customers while the improvements are being carried out. Fusion, which runs the leisure centre on behalf of the council, has made alternative arrangements for swimmers, including:

• Swimmers with a ‘Choice’ membership can use facilities at Southgate and Arnos Grove at no extra cost
• Swimmers with a ‘Blue’ membership can use facilities at Tottenham Green at no extra cost
• Swim School members, and other activities and galas, will move to Tottenham Green Leisure Centre where swimmers will be able to take advantage of the newly refurbished main pool and teaching pool

This work is part of the wider £15million renovation project to improve both Park Road and Tottenham Green Leisure Centres, with a host of state-of-the art facilities being introduced at both sites.

In Tottenham Green, the main pool and teaching pool have both been refurbished, and there will be a new wet changing area and health suite.

Park Road Leisure Centre is being extended and there will be new changing rooms, a soft play area and three new fitness studios.

Fusion is also working with their construction company to open the lido at Park Road as soon as possible. As part of its redevelopment – the first in its 80-year history – Fusion has installed the option to heat the lido so that it can be kept open out-of-season for as long as possible, taking into consideration demand and weather conditions.
