Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The largest tree placed by TFL outside VUE cinema to put the 'wood' back into Wood Green is now pretty much dead. A bungled planting job it seems.

The small Rowan tree near my road which died almost a year ago is still dead with no replacement also.

Would it be possible to get the council tree person to come online and feedback to the community a little bit ? I hear they are supposed to be good but some reasurarance about some issues could be great.

My questions would be

A) Will TFL secure a large replacement tree for Wood Green for the one they planted badly ?

B) Is the council web site really working ? I've flagged up the dead tree near street twice and no response and that was ages ago.

You can see the tree planting programme if you click the link below

The seasonal lists of roads are near the bottom
About half way down there's a link to My Account. I use this for reporting stuff. The advantage is that you keep a record of what you've reported and you get email updates on progress. Still though, they should have got back to you after reporting the issue twice!
He road of the dead tree I reported twice isn't there. Some part of their website isn't working.

where exactly is this dead tree that's in Harringay? </pedant>

That's my job Abster

Not a catastrophe, just an apostrophe gone astray.

The trees in W.G. high road were actually planted by TFL, would you believe, not the council, and so it is their [I suppose] responsibility to look after them. The big one by the Vue cinema [Spouters Corner], was a Beech, very unsuitable for the site, not surprised it has died, real shame...

My opening post make clear the relationship with TFL but I presume TFL contracted the job out and there may be some chance of negation with the builders given they failed the largest and most expensive task in hand.

I think the tree's roots were snapped when planted. Why don't you think a beech would survive ? It would have been considered by at least one key tree person after all I would have thought.
